Local poets and those who appreciate poetry are invited to gather at the Texas Theatre at 11 a.m. for “A Celebration of Poetry.” A roster of readers will share poems they have written along with selections from their favorite authors. There is no charge to attend.

Seguin is also invited to paint up their pet or gussy up their pup in its finest frock for the event’s newest event — the Pet Art Poochanga! Registration begins at 4 p.m. that day. The Poochanga itself will kick off at 5 p.m. from the stage in the Texas Theatre.
